BEEBE, Ark. (KTHV) - Beebe officials say two young girls, ages 13 and 15, were assaulted by two men Thursday night around 8 p.m.
The mother of the 15-year-old said she gave her daughter permission to walk to a nearby park with the instruction she be home before dark. She said on the way home the girls noticed two men approaching them.
"The two girls saw this, started picking up their pace a little bit and the two suspects ran after them," said Detective Jeremy Weeks with Beebe Police Department. He says the girls were assaulted, the 15-year-old raped.
"She just said she felt her attacker was bigger and she said they were on them so fast. It was nothing they could do," said the mother of the 15-year-old.
Still on the run, authorities say the two men have been identified as a skinny white male around 5'8" who wore a red shirt, blue jeans and a backwards ball cap with a "Monster" drink logo.
Detective Weeks says the other accused of raping the 15-year-old is described as a black male over 6-feet tall who he says wore all black with a chain hanging from his jeans.
Police said a passerby flashed their lights and blew their horn which startled the men. They said the girls describe the vehicle as white in color, but have no further description. Authorities said the driver of the vehicle has yet to come forward. Officials feel their assistance could further the investigation.
"It's been about four days and every day seems to get harder instead of easier, but that's my primary concern is getting her through it," said the mother.
Officials said the girl's clothing along with a rape kit have been sent to a laboratory. They ask anyone with information call Beebe Police Department.
