POCAHONTAS, Ark. (AP) - Randolph County prosecutors have rested in the capital murder trial of a man charged with killing a Dalton family in 1998.
Billy Green is charged in the deaths of Carl and Lisa Elliott and their two children. Prosecutors say the Elliotts were killed due to a drug deal gone bad.
The Jonesboro Sun reports that attorneys for Green are expected to ask Monday that the case be dismissed.
Green's son - Jason Green - testified Friday that his brother - Chad Green - admitted he killed the four. Billy Green's ex-wife - Mary Wilson - testified that Green told her on the night of the slayings that he "had to clean up Chad's mess."
Chad Green has been convicted in the case and is serving life in prison.
