JONESBORO, Ark. (KTHV) - According to authorities, one of the three defendants charged in the killing of a Jonesboro businessman pled guilty today in court.
Authorities say Terrance Odell Barker pled guilty to the killing of Marc Despain last August. Barker admitted to one count of first degree murder.
Despain was a real estate investor and appraiser.
Authorities say that in exchange for Barker's guilty plea, and promise of an honest testimony against his two co-defendants, his charged was reduced from capital murder to first degree. They recommend that he be sentence to 35 years in prison.
Sentence is pending for Barker until September when the co-defendants appear in court. Despain's parents are said to have approved the plea agreement.
