BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Benton Police Department says citizens should be aware of an attempted theft of property and potential scam.

According to the department, someone reported Tuesday that a man acting as a repossessor came to his house and attempted to repossess his four-wheeler.

This suspect was described as a bald white male approximately 6'1" tall, weighing 225 pounds, in a silver Dodge crew cab truck, which was pulling a black, beat up, goose neck trailer.

Police say the person claimed to be a repossessor for GE and he was sent because the payments were past due. The subject did not gain possession of the four-wheeler.

Anyone with information of the identity of the suspect is encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at 778-1171 or 315-TIPS. Individuals also may send an anonymous tip about his whereabouts to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword BNPD in the body of the text.

If contacted by this individual, dial 911 immediately. We also ask that you not confront him, however, if you can, safely, get a vehicle license plate number.
