STUTTGART, Ark. (AP) - A piece of machinery that's being used to build a new dryer at Producers Rice Mill in Stuttgart has a storied history.
Producers Rice Mill CEO Keith Glover says the large crane was also used to help clean up debris at the World Trade Center after the Sept. 11 attacks. The crane is visible from miles away in Stuttgart. Up close, a banner that reads "Lifting America" is visible.
Glover says the crane was brand new at the time of the 9/11 attacks and that the cleanup project was its first job.
The Stuttgart mill's new dryer is expected to be done in time for this year's rice harvest. Glover tells the Stuttgart Daily Leader (http://is.gd/Z43KPK) that the new dryer will provide additional storage space of 3.5 million bushels.
