Checking up on your 401(k) retirement fund

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - In a recent survey, half of all Americans say they aren't contributing to a 401(k) retirement fund. 

That's why on this Consumer Tuesday we are discussing tracking your investments and the importance of contributing. 

According to a study of nearly 12 million participants and 20,000 retirement plans, the average employee contribution was $5,750 while the average employer contribution was $3,270. The average deferral was 8% of salary and the average account balance was only $69,100.
