LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 25, 2012) - Thousands of people will flock to the banks of the Arkansas River this weekend for Riverfest.

With approximately 260,000 festival-goers attending last year, Riverfest is the largest single event in the state of Arkansas with a rich 35-year tradition.

Gates open this morning at 11 a.m. with festivities running through Sunday night. And from all the delicous food to amazing live entertainment, there is plenty going on for the whole family at this three-day arts and music festival.

One special event that is new this year is 'Ruff on the River' which will be held today, May 26th at 3:00 p.m. in the River Market District in downtown Little Rock. Register your four-legged friend, then dress your pooch in costume and let the judges decide who has the most creative costume. Each pooch registration includes one human escort.

Click here for a complete lineup of the musical acts performing at Riverfest.

Admission price at the gates will be $30 for a 3-day pass. Discounted tickets are available at select Walgreen's locations around the state for $20 plus a $.75 processing fee through May 27th (while supplies last).

Riverfest Hours of Operation
Saturday, May 26th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sunday, May 27th from 1-11 p.m.

Riverfest Board president Jordan Johnson is encouraging people to park at War Memorial Stadium, approximately 5 miles away and take a shuttle to the festival.
