LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 1, 2012) - The twelfth annual Spring Garden Tour sponsored by the Greater Little Rock Council of Garden Clubs will take place Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 1-5 p.m.

The theme this year is "Le Tour - Exploring the Gardens of Chenal".

From a big country organic farm to perfectly lush city landscapes and everything in between, this tour has it all. Additionally, each garden will have its own local artist working to capture the beauty in his or her own medium. One garden owner/artist will have an art walk as part of her tour.

Along with seven private gardens, Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts will also be on the tour.

Visitors will find tips of what to do with a rocky slope, how to propagate roses, statuary to enhance your garden, creating garden rooms and plenty more.

Once again, the Pulaski County Master Gardeners will be in attendance to help answer horticultural questions. Garden Club members provide hostesses, directions and free water. Local restaurants help us out by providing specials and discount the weekend of the tour for ticket holders.

Tickets may be purchased at any garden the days of the tours for $25. Ticket outlets all over town will be selling tickets ahead of the tour weekend for $20. Children under 14 are admitted free.

The tickets themselves have maps inside and descriptions of each garden. You may begin at any home and revisit if you wish. Tickets are good for all weekend and are tax-deductible donations.

Be advised to wear sturdy comfortable shoes.  Several of the sites are quite large and will practically mandate taking pictures and frequent stops to smell the roses.

For more information and to purchase tickets either call 663-7515 or go to www.glrcgc.net
