BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A former Arkansas state trooper is to serve 56 years in prison after being convicted for the second time on child porn charges.
A judge on Thursday accepted no contest pleas from 66-year-old Joseph Hutchens, who was charged as an habitual offender.
Hutchens retired as a trooper after 26 years. He was working as a Benton County bailiff when he was arrested in 2005 on child porn charges. He was convicted on eight counts in 2007 and sentenced to prison.
The Benton County Daily Record reports (http://is.gd/Qioh17) Hutchens was on parole when he was allegedly caught again with child porn in 2010.
Hutchens apologized in court and said he "destroyed" his career and his family.
