LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Attorney General's Office announced Friday that the Cyber Crimes Unit arrested a Boone County man for child porn charges.
David Allen Watson, 43, of Harrison was arrested Thursday and is charged with 20 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.
Watson was being held in the Boone County Detention Center.
"We will pursue those throughout our State who engage in this kind of reprehensible criminal activity," McDaniel said. "Those who exploit children should know we will not tolerate their actions. We will continue to work with other law enforcement agencies to investigate these crimes."
Watson was arrested after agents with the Attorney General's Office executed a search warrant at his home in Harrison. Watson was taken into custody after admitting to investigators that he possessed images of child pornography on his laptop computer.
During the search, agents discovered multiple images of child pornography on the computer. That and other seized electronic evidence will be analyzed at the Cyber Crimes Unit Forensic Lab.
Special Agent Chad Meli of the Attorney General's Office begin an investigation into Watson in early May after suspecting that child pornography was being possessed at Watson's arrest.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation and arrest. The Attorney General's Office will turn the completed case file over to 14th Judicial District Prosecutor Ron Kincade.
Charges are merely accusations and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
