LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 4, 2012) - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is sponsoring the Arkansas Free Fishing Weekend June 8-10.

From noon on Friday until midnight on Sunday, residents and nonresidents may fish without fishing licenses or trout permits. Regulations for Arkansas waters apply: daily limits, slot limits and length limits must be observed.

And to get the kids excited about fishing, AG&FC is also holding a free fishing day on Saturday. The kiddos are encouraged to grab their fishing poles and bait to participate in the free fishing derby.

There will be prizes awarded for fish caught. Event times are Saturday, June 9 from 9 a.m. - noon.
