NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Few details are being released about the fall from a fire escape that killed a University of Oklahoma student.
Campus police found 22-year-old Casey Cooke near Evans Hall shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday and say she fell from a fire escape on the building. OU spokeswoman Catherine Bishop declined to say how Cooke is believed to have fallen.
Bishop said in an email to The Associated Press Wednesday that the university is working with the Norman Fire Department to analyze the safety of the fire escapes and that it would be inappropriate to comment further during the investigation.
The state medical examiner says Cooke died of blunt force trauma and ruled the death accidental.
A spokeswoman for the medical examiner did not return a phone call seeking further comment Wednesday.
