IRVING, Texas (AP) - Police in a Dallas suburb say their officers have shot and killed a suspect after exchanging fire while investigating another shooting.
In a statement released Sunday, Irving Police say officers responded to a report for a shooting at an apartment complex around 1 a.m. and while setting up a perimeter confronted a man with a gun.
Police say the man pointed the gun at officers and it appears shots were exchanged between officers and the suspect. A tactical team was brought in and they found the man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not release the name of the man pending notification of family. The person believed to have been originally shot by that suspect was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition.
