Galveston, Tex. (CBS/KHOU) -- A Galveston man is behind bars tonight after police say he broke into a woman's home he thought she wasn't home, but found out the hard way that she was and armed. with a paintball gun.

That homeowner suspected a yard man was stealing from her, so on a day she wasn't supposed to be home she was prepared.

Inside the King family's home, they have a new appreciation for paintball guns. An attack went down Friday when Carrie King heard an intruder coming in the front. She says, "I don't know how he jimmied the door but he got in and started rustling through some stuff there and there and then he went upstairs."

Carrie grabbed the gun while calling 911. She says, "I gave her location what was going on and then my name and told her to get here now because I was armed with a paintball gun."

She could hear all the commotion upstairs learning later what the intruder wanted. She says, "So what was it up here that was just so tempting to this burglar? Some loose change and Ramen noodles 1 chicken 1 beef."

Carrie had lots of other coins and jewelry around along with plenty of food in the freezer. She says, "I've got steaks I've got groceries and you go after Ramen noodles really."

And as the intruder came back down, Carrie made her move. Yellow paintballs were flying hitting the man police later identified as Elvis Alexander. She says, "If I would have a real weapon and if I would have shot the same way Elvis would have been dead on my steps."

Instead she said, Elvis was bright yellow as police hauled him off to jail. So it seems there's only room for one kind of King in this house.
