CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - Two Faulkner County jailers have been arrested.

Authorities say Michelle O'Kelley and Michael Hirman were arrested and charged with tampering with public record, a class D felony. The two former jailers allegedly lied about checking on an intoxicated inmate, Tracy L. Barber, who later died.

According to authorities, O'Kelley and Hirman are accused of falsifying the log report in connection with the times and frequency of their regular checks.

If the two are convicted, they could face up to six years in prison. Both were released on their own recognizance, pending a court appearance later in the week.

The case is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police.
