JACKSON COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - An Oregon man has been found guilty of the murder of his stepfather in Arkansas.
Wednesday, a Jackson County jury of six men and six women found Ike Nunn of Oak Ridge, Oregon guilty of first degree murder and sentenced him to 40 years in prison. The jury's deliberation took 19 minutes.
The Toledo Blade reports Nunn, 35, beat his stepfather Cecil Phillips, 61, to death in his Tuckerman home with a baseball bat. A preliminary autopsy report shoes Phillips died of blunt force trauma.
Nunn was found in a Toledo psychiatric hospital where he allegedly confessed to the killing.
