TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - Officials in Miller County say it will cost more than $86,000 to upgrade the county jail to reduce the risk of inmate escapes.

Warden Marty Brazell says the jail needs better lighting, more cameras and additional razor wire. Brazell told members of the Miller County Quorum Court on Monday that such upgrades will cost $86,878.

The Texarkana Gazette reports (http://is.gd/6L2zEv ) that the quorum court approving putting the project out for a bid.

On May 28, two men allegedly used a hacksaw blade to cut through the bars on their cell window to escape. They crawled through razor wire to break out and were arrested three days later.

Authorities hope to add six new cameras and more than 10,000 feet of razor wire to the jail.
