FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A man arrested for the 2006 slaying of a 21-year-old female student in Fayetteville has pleaded not guilty to a capital murder charge.
A judge on Wednesday accepted a not guilty plea from 26-year-old Rico Tavarous Cohn of Springdale. Cohn was arrested June 6, ending a six-year wait for the family of Nina Ingram.
Ingram was a student at Northwest Arkansas Community College and was found strangled in her apartment.
The Northwest Arkansas Times reports (http://is.gd/DjRWhh) Prosecutor John Threet won a judge's approval to seal records in the case. Police and prosecutors have not revealed what new information or evidence led to Cohn's arrest.
Cohn's arrest is the first in the case.
