LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Crews entering the next phase of construction for improvements at the Interstate 430/630 interchange in Little Rock will close the southbound entrance ramp to Interstate 430 at the intersection of S. Shackleford Road and Hermitage Road this week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
The ramp closure will begin on Wednesday, June 27th at 9:00 a.m. The ramp will remain closed until early 2013. This will allow the contractor to complete most of the work along the west side of Interstate 430 and south of Hermitage to the south end of the project, including the hanging of steel beams for the flyover ramps and replacing the pavement for the closed ramp.
Detour signs will be in place for motorists wanting to access Interstate 430 South. Motorists are encouraged to use the entrance ramp for Interstate 430 south located south of the Arkansas Heart Hospital on S. Shackleford.
Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
