Kevin Jones', man acquitted in Nona Dirksmeyer murder case, civil suit moves forward

    • LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A portion of Kevin Jones' civil suit against two officers in the Nona Dirksmeyer murder investigation moves forward. (PDF)

    Monday, district judge James Moody denied Russellville detective Mark Frost and former chief James Bacon's request to dismiss the case.

    A jury acquitted Jones in the 2005 murder, and he is now suing, claiming Frost and Bacon allegedly ignored evidence pointing to another suspect. Both argue in court papers that Jones did receive a fair trial.

    The civil trial is set for February 2013.
