LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department says motorists should use extra care and attention as they travel through highway work zones over the Independence Day holiday.
Agency director Scott Bennett notes that traffic on several interstates will be reduced to one lane or have closed shoulders. Those include Interstate 30 in Social Hill; Interstate 40 in White River; Arkansas Highway 245 in Texarkana and Interstate 530 in Redfield.
Bennett says there may be additional traffic throughout the day and travelers should consider alternate routes before they reach construction projects.
