Fire crew in Saline County
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Firefighters in Saline County have brought under control a wildfire that resulted in a voluntary evacuation of about 30 homes.
The fire was contained at about 5 p.m. Saturday.
Saline County sheriff's Lt. Mike Frost there were no injuries or property damage reported. The fire consumed between 100 acres and 150 acres in the rural area south of Little Rock.
The fire broke out as the Arkansas Forestry Commission listed the entire state as being at "extreme" risk of wildfire.
The National Weather Service says another high temperature record was set when Little Rock reached 103 degrees on Saturday.
More hot weather is forecast for the coming days. Early in the week, some showers are possible but aren't forecast to bring nearly enough rain to break the drought.
