  • LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The man acquitted in the 2005 murder of Nona Dirksmeyer is now suing not only two officers in the investigation, but also the City of Russellville.

We reported last week that a portion of Kevin Jones' civil suit against Gary Dunn, Russellville detective Mark Frost and former Chief James Bacon is moving forward. On Monday, June 25, district judge James Moody denied the officers' request to dismiss the case. Now, Jones is amending the lawsuit, and adding the City of Russellville.

The lawsuit claims that Dunn, Frost, Bacon, and the City of Russellville (PDF) took part in a conspiracy to protect Dunn from prosecution so that Jones would be tried instead.
