MOUNT VERNON, Ark. (KTHV) -- A brush fire in Faulkner County is now contained.
Around 1:30 p.m. in the Faulkner County community of Mt. Vernon, a brush fire broke out. The fire did cause one row of home to be evacuated, but all are allowed to return home now.
Lt. Matt Rice with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Dept. says the residents are now back home and the fire is contained.
Authorities say around 85 acres burned, and the suspected cause is a cigarette.
