LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Murray Lock in Little Rock will be closed for a period of time Thursday to finish gate repairs.
Officials with the Army Corps of Engineers say Wednesday's closure allowed divers to inspect the downstream miter gate. The Corps say it has developed a popping noise when it is operated, but the problem has been identified and crews began repairs Wednesday.
Officials say repairs began at 9:00 a.m. Thursday and will last until 5:00 p.m.
In a press release from the Corps Tuesday, they said they regret any inconvenience this may cause, and they ask for public cooperation until the work is finished.
