LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - At about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, fire crews were called to a fire at a two-story house on Westridge Road off Hwy 300 and Pinnacle Road in west Little Rock.
The Little Rock Fire Deptment says once they arrived, one house was fully engulfed with fire extending into a wooded area. The family was not at home at the time of the blaze.
Several homes were evacuated nearby as a precaution. A firefighter has been treated for heat exhaustion but no other injuries are reported.
Fire crews were called back to the scene this morning after THV's Meredith Mitchell noticed several flare-ups while covering the story. The fire department will continue to monitor the burnt area for hot spots in this dry weather.
