CONEY ISLAND, NY (CNN) - It's Independence Day and that of course means time for world-class eaters to stuff their faces with hot dogs. This year two rivals faced off in two different competitions.

It's a fourth of July tradition on Coney Island. The whole point is to see who can eat the most in ten minutes.

So, drum roll please... The winner of the women's competition was Sonya Thomas. She ate 45 hot dogs in buns in ten minutes! Wow!
