LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - In these extreme temperatures, outdoor surfaces can heat up rather quickly.
Asphalt, playground equipment, and pool decks are commonly known surfaces that can burn bare skin during the summer months. Now, you can add decks in direct sunlight to that list.
Last Friday, an Arkansas toddler received second to third degree burns on the soles of her feet after stepping outside on the hot deck. THV's Meredith Mitchell is talking with the toddler's mom, who is hoping that all parents of small children can be aware of this hidden danger.
She'll have more on this story on "THV at 6," and at todaysthv.com.
