SAN ANTONIO, Texas (AP) - A man fled from a north San Antonio nightclub and was hit by a car while being chased by a person in a gorilla costume.
The incident happened in the predawn hours Friday outside Coco Bongo, a tropical-themed bar near San Antonio International Airport that features a server in a gorilla costume.
A police report says witnesses said the man fled the bar saying he wanted to kill himself and ran to the nearby U.S. 281 freeway, followed by the person in costume.
The San Antonio Express-News (http://bit.ly/OC6W1h) reports vehicles evaded the man running across the highway until one hit him. He was taken to University Hospital, but police say his injuries weren't life-threatening.
No one else was injured, and no charges were filed.
