LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV)-- Little Rock police say a man driving a truck accidentally struck bicyclist Jevan Newman, 30. Police also say any possible charges are pending.
Just before 9 p.m Saturday, police say a man in a truck hit Newman who was crossing Pine Street near Markham. Witnesses say the bicyclist was wearing flip flops and was having difficulty braking.
The driver called 911 and Newman was transported to the hospital and died during surgery, according to the police report. The driver passed a sobriety test and told police he did not have time to avoid Newman.
