LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Southwest Power Pool is opening its new $62 million headquarters in Little Rock.
The organization on Monday is showing off its new corporate office that draws together employees that have been working in three locations in Little Rock and Maumelle.
The nonprofit organization manages electric services for 65 utilities in a nine-state area.
Southwest Power Pool has about 500 workers in the Little Rock area and plans to expand to 650 in time.
The organization considered moving its headquarters out of Little Rock but the state provided an incentive package to keep the office in Arkansas.
Jobs at the headquarters in west Little Rock pay an average salary of $85,500 per year.
