CABOT, Ark. (KTHV) -- Today's THV has partnered with the Arkansas Rice Depot for the 2nd annual Diaper Drive.

THV's Liz Massey and her son Cruz broadcasted live from the Cabot Walmart Tuesday during the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. shows and the number of diapers collected was much more than expected.

More than 20,000 diapers in all were collected.  Last year, the Rice Depot held their own drive there and collected about 3,200 so this year's numbers were amazing!

We want to thank all the churches, businesses, organizations and individuals who came out and donated.

ReNew Church in Cabot collected 10,000 diapers.  2nd Baptist Church in Jacksonville collected close to 2,300 diapers and Bank of Little Rock Mortgage and Cabot Civitan Club brought in close to 1,500 diapers!

It's still not to late to join us.  Maumelle you're next!  This Friday, July 13th the collection bins will go out at the Maumelle Walmart.  They'll be there throughout the weekend.  Then on Tuesday, July 17th, Liz and Cruz will broadcast live from there from 5-7 p.m.  Then the following week we'll be in Conway.

We hear Midtowne Church in Benton has already started their own diaper drive and will be making their donation live on the air.  Also, we hear Kimberly Clark in Maumelle is planning something big too!

We hope, your church, business or organization will start your own drive and then drop them off live on the air with Liz.  It's not too late!

If you have questions about how to start your own collection drive you can contact Lauren at the Arkansas Rice Depot at 565-8855 or email Liz at lmassey@todaysthv.com.

Cabot collected 20,000 diapers!  Maumelle can you beat that?  We'll find out next week.
