LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Recent late night robberies in Little Rock have residents on alert and police searching for two suspects.
The latest happened just after midnight Thursday when two suspects entered a condominium at an apartment complex off LaHarpe Boulevard. Sargent Cassandra Davis with the Little Rock Police Department says the victims were taken by surprise.
"As the residents entered the residence, the two suspects rushed in. There was some violence in that one of the victims was struck, but there was no serious or life threatening injuries," says Sgt. Davis.
The victims were a man and woman in their 20s who were just returning from a night out on the town. They reported walking by the two suspects outside, but at the time Davis says they didn't feel threatened.
"They were going inside their home, they were closing the door, but you always do still want to be alert in a situation like this," says Sgt. Davis.
According to police, these two suspects may be connected to several robberies involving young adults out late at night.
On July 4, two men were robbed at gun point outside their home in Hillcrest and a few months back two suspects robbed a patron leaving White Water Tavern.
Sgt. Davis says that while most of these incidents happened in a 10 mile radius, they don't believe one area is the target, but rather the criminals are looking for a certain type of victim.
"Young people, their minds are usually caught on something else, they're not thinking, they're not as aware. That's with any victim, the suspect or perpetrator is looking for someone that's pre-occupied that has their guard down," says Sgt. Davis.
Davis asks that while they try to track down the two suspects, for everyone to stay vigilant.
"You hate that you always have to be walking around, always concentrating on not being a victim. You always have to be alert and aware of your surroundings," Sgt. Davis says.
