CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Coddie Avington, 28, of Conway, faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery and fleeing after an incident Saturday, July 14 that started outside of New China Restaurant and ended at a home on Sprucewood Street.
According to Conway Police, when officers arrived at the scene on Sprucewood, officers noticed two men dressed in black hoodies, wearing bandannas over their faces, black pants and gloves, going through items in the living room.
The men noticed the officers' presence and ran from the house. After a brief chase, officers arrested Coddie Avington. The other suspect is still on the loose tonight.
Upon questioning the people inside of the home, officers learned two of them were leaving New China Restaurant around 11 pm when they were approached by the suspects, robbed of a bank deposit bag and personal items then forced at gunpoint to take the suspects to their home.
The victims told officers when they arrived at home the men asked, "Where is the money," then locked all three people in the residence in a bathroom as they riffled through the house. The victims were able to call 911 for help.
