Women's Golf: Razorbacks tee it up at 110th North & South Amateur

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Four current and future University of Arkansas women's golfers teed it up Tuesday at the 110th Women's North & South Amateur in Pinehurst, N.C.

Current Razorbacks Emma Lavy and Meagan Roberts joined newcomers Oliva Lavy and Gabriela Lopez took part in stroke play on the par 72, 6,563 yard No. 8 course.

Lopez, an incoming freshman from Mexico City, Mexico, carded a one-over 73 and was tied for 13th when she came off the course.
A recent U.S. Women's Open participant, Lopez played the front two over and the back one under with birdies on 11 and 14 getting into the clubhouse with a 73.

Emmy Lavy, a junior-to-be at Arkansas, fired a three-over 75 and was tied for 36th with several players still out on the course. Lavy was plus one on the front and plus two on the back with her lone birdied coming on 15 with an eagle on the par 3 186-yard hole.
Younger sister Oliva Lavy, an incoming freshman for the Razorbacks, finished with a first round 79. Lavy s the third member of her family to tee it up for the Razorbacks.

Senior-to-be Meagan Roberts rounds out the Razorbacks in action Tuesday. The Ocean Springs, Miss., native opened four-over on the front nine and finished with a three-over 75.

Players compete in three rounds of stroke play followed by four rounds of match play to determine the champion. The 117 player field will be cut to the low 60 and ties following the second round and the top 16 players move on to match play.
