LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Tuesday, THV's Liz Massey and the Arkansas Rice Depot held their 2nd live broadcast for the Diaper Drive. This time it was at the Maumelle Walmart.
The final number is in and the official count: 21,887 diapers collected! We just got another donation in from Cabot from Renew Church. That closed the gap on Maumelle's lead to just 270 diapers.
An awesome job at both drives! We have only one drive to go, that's in Conway. The collection bins go out this Friday, July 20th at the Conway Walmart on 65 N. Then on Tuesday, July 24th, Liz will be there live from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the final broadcast.
This year's goal is to collect 100,000 diapers. As you can tell we have a ways to go. But Brian Ratliff with Antioch Baptist Church is working hard to spread the word to other churches and businesses. He would love for the community to raise 50,000 diapers by next Tuesday. In addition, Central Baptist Church is on board!
We do know Kimberly-Clark workers are planning to make a special delivery along with Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock. And we hear First Baptist Church in Jacksonville is working on collecting diapers.
Will we reach our goal? We hope so and we can do it with your help! Thanks for helping the Arkansas Rice Depot help families in need.
If you can't make it to one of the drives, you can still make a monetary donation by calling 501-565-8855 just let them know it's for the Diaper Drive or you can click here to make an online donation. Once you are on the Rice Depot's website, you'll see "Gift Designation," select Diaper Depot.
Thank you for all your support!
