LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - An 18-wheeler slows traffic on I-30.
According to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, a loaded 18-wheeler traveling westbound on I-30 just past the Geyer Springs exit bent in two Thursday afternoon.
AHTD says the driver was able to move into the shoulder of the highway and no other vehicles were involved.
Randy Ort with the AHTD tells Today's THV that while the verdict is still out, it doesn't appear to have been caused by driver error; but rather, a defective trailer.
One lane is currently blocked due to top of the trailer leaning into it. AHTD predicts that crews will be working the scene for quite some time.
The truck has been unloaded and reloaded onto another 18-wheeler. AHTD says the bent trailer must be cut in half and hauled separately.
We're told that Highway Police are working the scene.
