LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- When, in the course of human events, a news story becomes a positive or negative moment on televisions across the land, we call them winners, and losers. Let's do this:

LOSER: I-430/I-630 interchange. Lane closures, orange barrells, tie-ups, detours, and the drivers who, not thinking, going their usual route, slap their foreheads because they forgot about all the construction. Somehow we've all got to keep our eyes focused on the future, and one day know it will all be worth it.

LOSER: The Hoff! David Hassellhoff was a loser, who became a winner because he was a loser. The former Baywatch and Knight Rider star is the spokesman for Cumberland Farms ice coffee, and his fans keep stealing the posters promoting the product.

WINNER: Liz Massey. Despite the heat, Liz has engineered the collection of now close to 45 thousand diapers, in the Arkansas Rice Depot diaper drive. Maumelle and Cabot are a part of this. Conway, your 65 North Wal-Mart starts collections today.

WINNER: Drivers headed to and from Conway. They seem to have learned distracted driving lessons. I traveled that route three times this week, and by my unofficial count, only 4 drivers of about 62 were on cell phones.

LOSER: Bane. He's the villain in 'The Dark Knight Rises' and, coincidentally, that name is in the middle of the mudslinging going on in the Presidential campaign. It's a tough time for the Bains of the world.

LOSER: Oprah Winfrey. According to all reports her network is struggling, and her weekly show averages 114 thousand. She used to average over 5 million daily. She is starting up her book club again, but will it have the impact it used to have? Still, if you're an author, it couldn't hurt to have Oprah give you a call.
