Little Rock, Ark. (KTHV) -- A familiar name with a rich tradition, Camp Aldersgate for years has been providing a place for people of all races to come together.

Today, this idea is far from abnormal but in the 1940's-Camp Aldergate opened its' doors to more then just peace seeking individuals.

CEO Sarah Wacaster says that when you look at the camps documentation, the Governor was ordering the Sheriff department to take notes on the activity of the camp as well as writing down everybody's license plate number.

With the camp located on a hidden one lane dirt road, this didn't help as the harassment soon turned violent. Bullets soon began firing toward the camp, protesters even blew-up a dam in hopes to flood the grounds. With the attempts to bring Camp Aldergate down, it still stands strong with the same mission it has always had.
