Conway, AR (KTHV)-A Conway man is hospitalized today after police say he was struck by a drunk driver during his morning walk. Major Andy Shock with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Department says Damon Trey Warbritton struck Allan Shirley of Conway then ran through the man's house with his truck. It happened just before 8am on Roden Mill Road just east of Conway. Shock says Shirley attempted to get out of the way of the vehicle by jumping into a nearby ditch but Warbritton swerved toward the ditch striking Shirley and then continued about 300 feet down the road crashing into Shirley's house. Officers say Warbritton's blood alcohol content was point 15, nearly two times the legal limit. Damage to the home is estimated at around $15,000. Warbritton is charged with DWI and reckless driving. Shirley meanwhile is listed in stable condition.
