RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) -- A Russellville man is under arrest for leaving his child in a hot car.
Andres Balbuena-Cruz, 31, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Saturday after Russellville police responded to a call of an unattended child in a vehicle in the WalMart Parking Lot.
Police say the child was crying at the time of their arrival. The child was locked in the car and temperature outside at 102 degrees.
Windows in the vehicle were broken so that emergency services could tend to the child.
The child was later treated and released at a local hospital.
After several attempts to page the parents inside the store, Balbuena-Cruz reportedly came running out to the vehicle.
After reviewing the surveillance video, police say the child had been left in the car for 16 minutes.
