LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 26, 2012) - The 6th annual Methodist Family Health Walk for Children and Families event will be held Friday, Aug. 3, on the North Little Rock side of the Big Dam Bridge.

Proceeds will be used to purchase new bed and dresser sets for children's rooms at Methodist Behavioral Hospital in Maumelle.

Registration for the event opens at 6 p.m., and the walk begins at 7 p.m. The fee is $20 for individuals and $50 for families. Registration forms can be found online at www.methodistfamily.org.

Parking is available at the Crystal Hill Elementary School, and a free shuttle to the Big Dam Bridge will be provided.

A special guest at this year's Walk will be Clint Stoerner, honorary chairperson and former Arkansas Razorback and Dallas Cowboy quarterback.

"This walk is one of our most significant fundraisers," said Andy Altom, Methodist Family Health chief executive officer. "Our goal is to provide compassionate loving care to all who might need it, and our kids definitely need that help and support. Youth groups, families and individuals who participate in this year's walk help us to better the lives of the 1,400 children and families we provide care, support and love for each day."

The event will feature live music and free pizza and Frosty Treats ice cream. Awards will be presented to the individuals and groups who raise the most money and awareness. All participants will receive a free T-shirt.

For more information about the walk or to register, contact Annie Davis at Methodist Family Health, (501) 661-0720, ext. 7301 or
e-mail adavis@methodistfamily.org. Registration will also be accepted at the event.
