JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - A teenager accused in the shooting death of a Jonesboro man reportedly told police that he wanted to rob a "dice game" because he needed money to buy more minutes for his cell phone.
Police say 30-year-old Kenny Brown was shot to death Tuesday night at an apartment in Jonesboro. Witnesses told police that the 16-year-old boy shot a single round through the apartment's door, then walked in while pointing a handgun and demanded money.
The Jonesboro Sun reports (http://is.gd/EmvCra) the would-be robber wore a red bandanna covering part of his face.
A police spokesman says Brown was shot in the head while he and his brother tried to disarm the teenager.
Police say witnesses identified the teenager by name and he was arrested without incident a few hours later.
