LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A collection of costumes from the past 20 years of shows at the Arkansas Arts Center is up for sale Saturday in Little Rock.

The Arts Center Children's Theater is letting the public come browse and buy the shoes, hats, scarves, dresses, shirts, pants, coats, and many other pieces that made the performances come to life.

The sale is Saturday 10 am to 3 pm at the Arts Center downtown Little Rock.

The day before the sale, students are practicing and sweating on the stage. They've been perfecting their performances for weeks at the Arts Center's Summer Theater Academy.
And if the kids catch your eye--go see the show.
If the costumes catch your eye--well, you may just be in luck.
A giant rabbit costume! For sale.

A piece of cheese costume! For sale.

Erin Larkin is the Costume Designer for the Children's Theater... She's worked with EVERY piece.

"This is just clearing out stock, making room for all the new stuff. " says Larkin.

You could call it a childhood dream come true. Hundreds of costumes which have been on stage to entertain thousands of people! Want to be a cowboy or a fabulous corpse bride? They've got it but it will go quick. Costumes for adults, teens and tweens...all at garage sale prices. Most items under $10.00

It's a closet sale one can feel proud about.
larkin says, "Everything is to benefit the theater guild who raises scholarship money for kids to come to our Summer Theater Academy and learn all kinds of skills. Acting, musical theater,  improv, voice indiction. All the things that go into making theater!"

13-year-old Anna Frost is in her fourth year at the Summer Theater Academy. She says she loves the shows and how the staff treats them like adults. What costumes has she worn in shows?

Frost says, "Many things! I've been a boy scout and I was in this scout uniform. I've been a penguin. I've had an old fashioned dress. I've been in skin hides."

And just like all the shows played out on their stage -- each costume has a unique story.
