JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - In January of this year, police busted a Maumelle high school teacher for drugs after leaving campus one Thursday morning.

The arrest was that of 35-year-old Brittany Burns of North Little Rock. At the time of the arrest, she was a physical education teacher and assistant girls' basketball coach at Maumelle High School.

Police in Jacksonville say that on Tuesday, July 31, Burns was arrested once again after being stopped on a failure to yield from a private drive charge. They say that while on the traffic stop, officers located items such as stolen audio electronics and a case that contained two clear glass pipes with white powder residue inside. In addition, police say they located a cigarette lighter case that had baggies containing a crystal-like substance, another containing a purple and gray pill, and a white straw cut at one end and sealed at the other. They say they also found a digital scale and two propane lighters.

According to the police report, Burns was taken into custody and is facing charges of shoplifting, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.
