LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Police said a 20-year-old Roland man was shot Friday morning on his family's property as he left to play golf with friends.

"He was pulling down the drive way saw the gold vehicle," said Lt. Chris Ameling with Pulaski County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities said it happened on Penney Lane off State Highway 300 in Roland around 7 a.m. Friday.

The family said the woman standing next to the vehicle mouthed the words, "I'm sorry," as shot gun pellets rang from the bushes.

"When he drove past the vehicle the round was discharged and he went to his uncle's house," said Lt. Ameling.

Investigators said the victim did not recognize the woman who was on the family's private property.

"The doorbell rang and I hear my nephew's voice and I hear him scream, "let me in I've been shot at," said the victim's uncle who did not want to be identified.

The uncle said the gunman shot through the driver's side window, bullets hitting the dashboard and exiting through the front windshield.

"When he heard the gunshot go off he says he just floored it and luckily he just has some abrasions to his right arm and it's just glass from the gun shot.  Thank God he wasn't hit," said the victim's uncle.

Police said the victim was taken to a hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

"We don't have any suspects in mind right now.  We're just up there with several deputies trying to find the vehicle.  Once we find the vehicle and the owner of the vehicle we can determine a motive at that time," said Lt. Ameling.

Police are searching for a gold-colored passenger car in the Roland area.

The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to a conviction.  If you have any information, you are asked to call the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department at (501) 340-6600.
