BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The Benton County Sheriff's Office says a 3-year-old boy has died after he climbed into the trunk of his family's car.
Authorities say the 3-year-old was found dead in the car Saturday night in northeast Benton County.
Fayetteville television station KHOG reports (http://is.gd/uWZ89f) the boy climbed into the trunk and was unable to get out. The sheriff's office says the child died from heat exposure.
Temperatures were above 100 degrees when the boy climbed into the car.
The child's body was sent to the Arkansas Crime Laboratory. The sheriff's office says investigators don't suspect foul play.
