NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (August 11, 2012) - The 27th Annual Arkansas Book and Paper Show will be held this weekend at the Jacksonville Community Center.
The Arkansas Book and Paper Show will occur from 9:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. today, August 11, and from 10:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. on Sunday, August 12. The Jacksonville Community Center is located at 5 Municipal Drive, Jacksonville, AR, 72078. Admission is $5.00 per person.
"The show promises to be an exciting event for collectors, historians, and those who want to view museum quality materials all available for purchase. Many dealers are from out of state bringing with them postcards, rare books, leather bound books, printed ephemera, maps, children's books, and much more," said Jeff Baskin, show director.
There will be special displays and offerings from book and paper dealers from throughout the USA. Included are antiquarian , leather bound, first editions, autographed, bargain, history fact & fiction, civil war, biographical, children's, travel, Arkansas, Texas & Southwest fiction & non-fiction books. Also incorporated are maps, collectible postcards, old photographs and related ephemera.
Some 500 readers, collectors and investors are expected to attend. At previous shows, dealers have come from Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Kansas, Canada and Arkansas. The show is sponsored by the Arkansas Booksellers Antiquarian Association.
