LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Gov. Mike Beebe has announced his intent to grant five pardons while denying 38 clemency requests.
Beebe's office said Thursday that each of the five that the governor intends to pardon have completed all jail time, paid all fines and have fulfilled all parole and probation requirements.
The five are Holly Hart of Hot Springs; Eric Neal of Beebe; Jimmy Powell of Yellville; Perry Wilhite of Conway: and Christopher Williams of Fayetteville.
Hart had been convicted of theft of property and theft of a controlled substance; Neal of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia; Powell of burglary, theft and criminal mischief; Wilhite of burglary and theft; and Williams of battery.
There is a 30-day waiting period for public comment before the pardons are final.
