LITTLE ROCK, Ark (KTHV) -- Urban Farms are popping up all over Central Arkansas, but one in North Little Rock, is doing more than grow fruits and vegetables.
"The Field" is an urban farm created to benefit Central Arkansas's homeless. It not only provides fresh produce to those in need, The Field allows homeless individuals the chance to earn a day's wages by participating in the business of the farm. The Field is a joint venture between two local non-profits The One, Inc. and The People Tree, Inc.
This weekend you can have some fun, and help The Field.
The 'Field Hands' Event is at the White Water Tavern on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 8pm. The cost to get into the show is only $10 at the door and the proceeds go to benefit "The Field". The headline artists include: The Salty Dogs, Monkhouse, and Jody Evans plus other friends and guests.
